Golden Wattle Park and Mile End Get Major Facility Upgrades Soon

Construction is set to begin within weeks on a major upgrade to Golden Wattle Park in the Adelaide Park Lands. The work replaces ageing 1960s clubrooms with a modern facility that includes six change rooms, a kiosk and umpire facilities.

Golden Wattle Park Works

The upgrade targets existing infrastructure at the park. Replacement of the older clubrooms forms the core of the project. Six change rooms will provide updated space for teams. A kiosk and umpire facilities complete the listed additions. The Adelaide Park Lands location keeps the site central for participants.

Mile End Indoor Facility

The South Australian Government has committed $80 million to build a new 3,000-seat multi-sport indoor facility at Mile End. This venue will replace the ageing Netball SA Stadium. Completion is expected in late 2027. The project adds capacity for multiple sports under one roof.

SASI Venue Now Open

The new $68 million South Australian Sports Institute facility is now operational at Mile End. Its location places it near the planned indoor venue site. The operational status allows immediate use by athletes and programs. Mile End continues to host multiple sports assets in one area.

Next Steps for Venues

Work at Golden Wattle Park will proceed in the coming weeks. The Mile End indoor facility moves through planning toward the late 2027 target. The operational SASI building already contributes to daily training and events. These changes update the physical spaces used by local clubs and teams.
